Of rains and rampage

The heat builds. The frustration mounts. There is fuming. You feel the saturation point has been hit. Then there is the inevitable downpour. No i’m not talking about a lady losing her lid. I’m talking about the rain. Well, actually this one is about a bit of both.

‘You just don’t get it. Let it be’. When you hear these word you know you should stop guessing. There is no way you are winning this argument with her. And honestly she doesnt care about the argument. All she cares about is your undivided time and attention. It is like banging your car into your friend’s living room and saying hi just because they have been busy and not been in touch. Well, maybe not exactly like that. But you get the picture. When your girl picks a fight with you, it’s not about proving you wrong. It’s more about evaluating how much shit you can take to be her ‘baby’.

I love summers. I really do. I’m sure you love it as well. Sweat and stench in the air. The natural sauna. Lack of personal hygiene combined with public transport. Best season ever! On a serious note, i actually love summer. It has this association with being free and playing under the sun because school is shut down. Even though i’m grown up and shut in a corporate cage, the season still has the same feel to it. What to do, i’m like Pavlov’s dog. But lets face it. Summer is irritatingly hot.

It rained today bang in the middle of the hot hot sunmer. The scent of dirt in the air. The pitter patter of raindrops much like a child pissing in your ear. Thr dark skies. The thunder and lightning. The sudden change in mood. Yet the downpour doesnt bring the relief you expect it to bring. It sort of compounds your frustration when even the rain has seemingly failed to act as a saviour in a torrid weather.

A lover’s rage is much like summer rain. The heat builds. The frustration mounts. There is fuming. You feel the saturation point has been hit. Then there is the inevitable downpour. And you feel the worst is behind you. But the heat doesnt go away. It sort of lingers there. Much like that booger you thought you wiped off while picking your nose. It’s still there. But you don’t see it. Nor feel it. But it will come to the front soon. The heat just lingers there. And this is when you break down.

You see, your girl’s tempestuous outflow is not different. It helps her vent her insecurities and all her emotiona clouding her thoughts every now and then. And much like the summer rain, the downpour is just a part of the process. You need to let the rain pour. Let it fully come out of the clouds. Once the pitter patter stops and the puddles settle down, you have survived the storm and all that awaits you is clear skies and cool breeze. Unless you messed up real bad. In which case, you’re on your own bro! Jesus be with you.

A lady’s rage gives you perspective. It clears the skies. It settles the dust. All you need to do is be with her during the downpour. Attention, patience and time. That’s all she needs. That’s all she ever expects from you. She deserves more, but this is all she seeks.so grab a chair, grab some coffee and enjoy the rains. Clear skies and cool breeze.

Dedicated to the women we loved and the women we lost. Cheers!
